We are an informal group of D'Aprix family members who have a particular interest in taking the random memories of those family members who committed the D'Aprix family origins to memory and wrote some of it down, records that some of us have on paper, the research that Pat D'Aprix did one summer at the prompting of John D'Aprix, Margaret's (wife of Ernest) amoungst the citry records of Utica, N.Y. that raises some questions of the accuracy of some of the family memories.

We are motivated as much by our own fascination with our roots as they go back just a few generations to Europe, mainly France and Germany, as we are with the way it brings history to a personal level. The flight from Europe accompanied with much death and hardship. One drop in the story of America.

But also, young D'Aprix's may wish to know how their family came to these shores and who they are related to. I am Peter Hildebrand D'Aprix living in Ojai, California. My line is thorugh Henry, Edward Charles Sr. and Edward Charles Jr. (my father). I am responsible for putting the information and photographs on computer and then making this web site. Roger D'Aprix, who has provided most of the research material along with Margaret D'Aprix and my mother Annabelle Mattox D'Aprix, has been working with me from Rochester, N.Y. It is largely the memory of his mother and his own memories of conversations with living relatives who went way back, that has provided the material to create this family tree.
